As a consequence, societies will be required to lower their carbon emissions by 80% in 2050. More renewable energy sources are developed, which, due to their inherent intermittent character, will require a more flexible electrical system.

Nevertheless, business owners are more concerned about the comfort and productivity of their employees than of the efficiency. This has a larger impact on their day-to-day operations and profits.

Enleash forms the missing link between the needs of the market and electrical system for flexibility, and the needs of the business/building owners by guaranteeing comfort levels and lowering energy consumption for the business owners while valorizing the resulting flexibility on the energy market via the IO.E. The aim is to put the energy-related information of the building at the disposal of the market and system in an agnostic-usage approach.
It all starts with the building itself. Enleash collects all the relevant energy data from the physical asset, aggregate it and put it on a central location. It can then be combined with forecasts of energy market prices, weather forecasts and other types of external data to make very accurate forecasts of the energy consumption pattern by the building.
By exposing this information to the IO.E platform as well as to different market parties, Enleash can create value for both the asset owners as the market parties. It provides flexibility to the grid when necessary – within certain comfort limits.
The building will expose its information and respond through commands from market and system, by the means of Application Program Interface (API), to to requests coming from outside of the building. The response of the building is optimized under the comfort constraint of the building occupants.
The use case will consist in assessing the technical set-up and integration, as well as testing the exposure of information and response to commands from market and system.
During the sandboxing phase, Enleash will create its first Proof Of Concept (POC).
These results will inform the business potential that can be achieved and how the solution can be scaled in a later phase.
