Executive Summary
ODYSSEE aims to develop a scalable framework for realtime matching of green production and consumption in order to better optimize the dispatch of flexible assets both from an economical as ecological perspective. A role in which ODYSSEE will take responsibility for the sourcing of the green electricity and the supply behind the meter for the specific assets consuming green electricity.
This framework will be tested in a concrete pilot project existing of Smappee charging points and decentral green production (PV) where the driver will bring his own green energy.

Challenge & Opportunity
Creating services in which energy is exchanged in a community, assets are steered intelligently to support the system while creating value for the end consumer, Energy is supplied at asset level is simply not possible. In the prototype ODYSSEE will demonstrate that we can do it technically based on the Exchange of Energy Block to ensure that these concepts are supported in the future opening the door to a multitude of innovative services. Doing so we will identify additional barriers for which a solution is to be realized.
The Vision
Unlocking intelligent services on asset level to accelerate the energy transition taking the whole energy system into account while doing so.
The Product
Starting small by steering an electrical vehicle in function of your own PV generation at home and actually charging that energy at the EV charger.
The Data Approach
ODYSSEE is leveraging the technology of one of the consortium member, Smappee, which is able to steer EV charging at their charging points in function of forecasted PV generation.
The scope of the sandboxing phase
1 | Demonstrate
Demonstrate an energy community with supply on asset level by means of an EoEB based on private sub-metering;
2 | Manage the supplier impact
Validate that the impact of the community wrt balancing obligation on the main supplier is manageable & define the required transparency
3 | Grid Fee split
Investigate solutions to not have the main supplier invoice the grid fees related to the ODYSSEE supply at asset level.
